I'm a MD / producer/director exposure films ltd, I have recorde some videos TV, digital and commercial with my Sony F55 at 120 fps. Since the XAVC Codec is a peripheral non-standard format which is not supported by FCP. I choose to convert XAVC to Apple ProRes 422 MOV– native codec for Final Cut Pro. For giving priority to video quality and transcoding settings, I download free trail iMedia Converter for Mac, which allows me to set frame rate as 23.976, 24, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, or 60. 60fps is the highest frame rate that FCP X can handle while 29.97fps(30p) is most appropriate.
