I just got a new Panasonic AG-HMC150 AVCcam camera that shoots AVCHD onto a SD card. I shot some video with it set to record at 720p 30. What i need is to import 720P 30fps MTS to FCP with 30fps kept. But when I open FCP and go to Log and Transfer I can preview the clips fine. When I add them to the queue and they are encoded it captures them at 59.94 fps instead of 30. I have tried it in Final Cut Express as well as iMovie and it is always the same. I don't know why Panasonic put that setting into it if nothing can read it properly.
So I am looking for a conversion tool which can preset frame rates and other settings. I've tried several converters and none of them works. Luckily, iMedia Converter for Mac is the best with the intuitive workflow and advanced profile settings for different editing systems and media players. This program offers an option to set video frame rates as 23.976, 24, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, or 60. I never find any other converters have the same output. Moreover, I can also video size, audio tracks, bitrates, audio frame rates and other settings.
Below is a simple tutorial to convert 720 30fps MTS to ProRes for FCP 7.
Step 1: Load AG-HMC150 MTS to MTS Converter for Mac
